About Gitetsu Nyūdō

Gitetsu Nyūdō (義哲入道) was born in April 29, 1972 in Mol, a small town in Belgium. Started his martial arts training in 1988, at the age of 16 with Hakkō Ryū Jū Jutsu (八光流柔術), Yōseikan Aikibudō (養正館合気武道) and Tenshin Shōden Katori Shintō Ryū (天真正伝香取神道流). In 1993, at the age of 21, Gitetsu Nyūdō (義哲入道) also became a student at the Bujinkan Dōjō (武神館), an organization headed by Hatsumi Masaaki Hisamune (初見良昭寿宗). He ended his practice of Hakkō Ryū Jū Jutsu (八光流柔術), Yōseikan Aikibudō (養正館合気武道) and Tenshin Shōden Katori Shintō Ryū (天真正伝香取神道流) in 1996 to fully focus on the 9 Ryūha (流派) that where taught at the Bujinkan Dōjō (武神館). In 2001, he became a student at the Jinenkan (自然舘), headed by Manaka Unsui (間中雲水) and received a teaching license (Menkyo - 免許). In 2010, Gitetsu Nyūdō (義哲入道) started with the study and practice of Shingon Buddhism, more precisely Kōyasan Shingon-shū (高野山真言宗) and this under the guidance of Shaku Jinsen (釈心銛), head of Yō E An (葉依庵), affiliated with the Kanmuridake Chingokuji (冠嶽山鎭國寺) temple in Japan. In May 2014, Gitetsu Nyūdō (義哲入道) felt compelled to resign as a licensed teacher from the Jinenkan (自然舘) which later that year led to the founding of Kukishinden Shōbukyoku (九鬼神伝尚武局), an organization to preserve and spread Kukishinden (九鬼神伝).
